El Brasil de Lina Bo Bardi (1996)

The exhibition El Brasil de Lina Bo Bardi, held in Mexico City, made a more than fair tribute to the great architect Lina Bo Bardi, and was a rescue of her professional, critical and poetical work at a time when they were still practically unknown to the public.

Divided into two parts, Architecture and Popular Design, the exhibition also contributed to a greater knowledge about the Brazilian identity and its contradictions.

In the Architecture sector, the exhibition held a tour of the architect's creations in the most varied areas - public buildings, furniture, set design, jewelry design etc. Beyond its "architectures", the exhibition presented another facet of Lina: the critical thinker and the woman heavily involved in the discussions of her time. In the Popular Design sector, the exhibition gathered objects created by the hands of the Brazilian people, selected and analyzed by Lina.
